Articles Bulletin EditionChai Society In May our group again had a fabulous lunch before viewing the movie “The Blade of Constantine’s Sword”. This thought provoking movie describes the age old troublesome relationship between the Catholic Church and the Jews. The movie was then followed by a discussion with Rabbi Flanzraich with the audience asking some provocative questions. Later on in May, our group had a bingo afternoon which proved to be a lot of fun for all. There was a great deal of kibitzing and Rivy managed to provide the winners with some lovely prizes. The season ended with another great lunch followed by our guest speaker Diana Mingail. She spoke on Jewish Pirates – Payback for the Spanish Inquisition, a most unusual and little known subject. Thanks to Diana, we learned all about the famous Jewish Pirates and their accomplishments. It was a most delightful afternoon. Please join the Chai Society for the fall season. Program booklets are available in the synagogue or call Rivy at 416-783-6103 ext. 228 and a booklet will be mailed out to you. Bring your friends for a tasty lunch and exciting program. Everyone is welcome. |
