5784/2023 High Holy Days - Learning Service Registration

Shanah Tovah! We are excited to celebrate the High Holy Days with you!

NEW THIS YEAR: LEARNING SERVICE
Held in the Chapel - open seating
Led by: Rabbi Dr. Kulp & Samuel Moses

If you’re craving deeper connections, seeking additional meanings, or wish to learn the significance of the High Holy Day prayers we recite every year, this service is for you! This 90-minute service allows the opportunity to enjoy the traditional components of the service, while gaining a new perspective on why we do them. Our Learning Service has its own name: Nisayon (nee-sa-yone), which means “experience” in Hebrew. During the Learning Service, we will engage with and discuss Jewish texts, learn about the day’s Torah portion and mitzvot, and sing traditional components of the service. The Learning Service is an immersive experience from beginning to end!

This service is being led by Rabbi Dr. Kulp, who is no stranger to Beth Sholom. We welcome the opportunity to engage him in a role to which he is clearly ideally suited. He is, first and foremost, an educator, having co-founded the Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem, and is also the scholar-in-residence at Camp Ramah in New England. Rabbi Dr. Kulp is excited to take on this new service and provide us with a memorable and meaningful High Holy Days experience.
