Dear Bar/Bat Mitzvah Parents,

I want to wish you Mazel Tov on the upcoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah of your son/daughter. Beth Sholom takes a great deal of pride in seeing that this occasion is not a mere event, but conveys a deeper message -- Bar/Bat Mitzvah is a beginning, as well as an end. It is the end of childhood, and the beginning of a growing and emerging sense of adulthood and responsibility.

In Judaism, these responsibilities speak to us in the language of tradition -- , holidays, mitzvot, Israel, and community. We are pleased to offer a program to all our bar/bat mitzvah families to reinforce these values.

Rabbi Aaron and I invite you to join us for our Bar/Bat Mitzvah program that will meet monthly in the coming year. Your entire family is welcome to join us at all programs. The goal of the program is to bring families celebrating Bar/Bat Mitzvahs in 2020 to learn and share in this meaningful experience together as a community. Dinner will be served at all of the evening programs and a pancake breakfast will be served during a Sunday morning in December.

Beth Sholom’s ritual committee considers attendance to the program as a compulsory component to enrich the overall experience of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah. It is a great opportunity to make us all appreciate what we stand to gain from this special moment in our lives.

Sincerely yours,
Cantor Eric Moses
